As I mentioned on Friday, we've had some issues with getting people to accept the free points and miles we've been trying to give them. So here we are again, ready to give away 75,000 United Airlines miles.
The (second) winner is……
My cat, Tilly!

I'm kidding, of course, I really just needed an excuse to show you a photo of her (isn't she adorable??)
Anyway, the real winner is Shayani J. from the UK!!! Congratulations!
Assuming you're reading this and responding to the private email I've already sent you, you can now take some free trips. Wooh!
I made a post on our website a couple of weeks ago breaking down the various ways you could use these miles along with some tips for the rest of you to earn this many miles (or even more) without breaking a sweat 👇

✈️ 30% transfer bonus on United Miles
|
|
|
In a newsletter last week, I dropped a knowledge bomb on you about how you can magically turn hotel points into airline miles.
Well, for all of you who were disappointed at not winning the giveaway today, I have some good news. Until September 30th, you can transfer hotel points to United with a 30% bonus!
|
|
|
|
It's very simple, you just need to register for the offer using your United MileagePlus member number, and transfer from any of the following programs:
- Accor Live Limitless
- Choice Privileges
- Hilton Honors
- IHG One Rewards
- Marriott Bonvoy
- Radisson
- Shangri-la Circle
- World of Hyatt
- Wyndham Rewards
Each program has a different transfer ratio, so make sure you read up on exactly how many points you'll earn from this transfer to decide if it's a good deal for you. Or I can tell you in a sec. Because you're worth it 😉

Is this a good deal for you?
Maybe. Many of you wrote in last week about how you never knew that transferring hotel points to airlines was an option. Some people value flights much more than hotel stays since there are always so many options when booking hotels, but not so much when it comes to air travel. If you're someone who otherwise wouldn't use your hotel points, then you don't need to worry about getting particularly good value - free flights are free flights!
If you are a frequent hotel guest, then you should think carefully about transferring points. Some deals might be worth it, others not so much.
Let's say you transfer 60,000 Marriott Bonvoy points (worth about $504) to United. You would yield approximately 35,000 United miles (worth about $425) between the usual Marriott conversion and a 30% bonus. While you're still "losing value," this is still a pretty darn good way to earn United miles from your hotel stays.

👩🏽✈️ A mother/daughter pilot duo
|
|
|
I love these kinds of stories. On September 1st, Hawaiian Airlines pilots Kamelia and Maria Zarka took to the skies as the captain and first officer of a series of Boeing 717 flights around the Hawaiian islands. This marks the first time in the 93-year history of the airline that a mother/daughter team has piloted a plane together.

I think this is really cool, especially because Kamelia has already made history by becoming the first Tongan airline captain in history… Or should I say herstory. She grew up in the small island nation of Tonga, moved to Hawaii, became a flight attendant, watched the pilots of her flights, and thought, "Hmm, I could do that." And then she did.
It must be pretty cool to go to work at a job like this with your daughter or mother. Given the small size of Hawaiian airlines' Boeing 717 fleet, it's likely that they'll be flying together like this fairly frequently.

Well, that's all for today! I BETTER hear back from you, Shayani J... please don't break my heart.
I'm going to go jump on my plane in a few minutes. I'm hopping to another country to position myself for something called a "mileage run." It's basically a way to fast-track my way to business class flights, amazing lounge access, bonus points, and more.
Do you value airline miles over hotel points? Do you want to know about how I use mileage runs to get amazing airline benefits? As always, let me know by replying to this email or reaching out on social media.
