š³ This bank + Resy will pick up your dinner bill
Some of my most coveted moments in life have revolved around the words āfree food.ā Theyāre just some of my all-time favorite words š¤
So itās super rad that THIS MONTH, the dining reservation app Resy is partnering with this bank to help you discover new restaurants in select citiesā¦ and theyāll even be picking up the check so you donāt have to.
Thereās actually a really cool movement behind this promo. Resy and this bankās Shop Small program are pairing up and want to highlight, encourage, and celebrate the small businesses and independent restaurants that define a local community š
There are two parts to this promo that you can take advantage of.
The first one is using Resyās reservation service to snag a āResy Dropā at a particular restaurant in participating cities (Washington D.C., Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, and San Francisco).
Once you pair an eligible card, like this one, to your Resy profile, youāll get exclusive access for when they releaseā¦ orā¦ drop these open reservations.
Theyāll be released on Mondays at 10:00 a.m. (local time) throughout August for a spot at one of the participating restaurants on Wednesday of that same week.
If you book one, theyāll pay for your meal up to $99 per person (and max six people per reservation)!
The second part involves enrolling your eligible card in the Resy Tastemaker offer within your account. By doing this, you can receive a $15 statement credit after making an in-restaurant purchase of $60 or more when you use your enrolled card.
Fortunately, there are many more cities where you can find participating restaurants for this offer (like Seattle, Denver, Boston, etc. as some examples).
And might I remind you that this card (#10) earns 4x points per dollar at restaurants in the U.Sā¦ š
I was able to enroll by logging into my account, going to Offers, selecting Featured, scrolling down to Unlock Dining Benefits, and clicking Visit Resy.com to get started with the process š
So whether you manage to score a Resy for a completely free dining experience or you get a credit to cover part of a meal when using your card, itās cool to see a bank partner with a company like this that not only brings you rewards but also brings attention to local small restaurants.
š Where in the World Wednesday: Iceland
Iceland, the land of fire and iceā¦ but also greenery this time of year.
Itās a volcanically explosive, sulfur-smelling, freaking windy, and wonderfully desolate country. It was one of the first countries that I ventured to way back when, and Iāve returned a handful of times over the years.
Though it does continue to dupe me out of seeing the Northern Lights every. single. time. š
But you could be luckier than I if you take advantage of this latest FareDrop deal that wants to fly you to Reykjavik for super cheap! š
Where to begin, right?
Iām going to say something controversial, butā¦ forego the Blue Lagoon and visit the Sky Lagoon instead.
Additionally, you should definitely eat Icelandic rye bread thatās baked in the sand of a geothermal lake.
I also superbly enjoyed touching both the North American and European continents while snorkeling in the Silfra fissure. Itāll be the coldest, most mind-numbing water youāve ever felt in your life, but who needs fingers or the ability to move your mouth anyway šµāš«
Do you fancy the famous black sand beach? A waterfall or 20? Did you know you could also touch the Arctic Circle at Icelandās northernmost point?
Itās a country that has so much to offer, and I think the best way youāll be able to explore it all is by planning an EPIC road trip around the whole island (enter some inspo from a recent DD YouTube video)!
So rememberā¦ embrace the flight-first travel rule and let FareDrop determine your next money-saving destination.
š”And donāt forget! Our FareDrop sale is still going on. You could score 50% off our Global Pro membership PLUS get a swaggy t-shirt like the rest of us cool kids. Check it out here!
āļø New routes to know about
I donāt know about you all, but I genuinely get excited when airlines release new routes for upcoming travel seasons. Have you started thinking about your vacation plans for next year??
If you need some ideas, here are a few fun ones to watch (and plan!) for.
Azores Airlines wants to get us American and Canadian folk to Porto, Portugal. Starting next June, the airline plans to operate three new routes:
Toronto - Porto
Boston - Porto
New York - Porto
Some other brand new routes Iām also excited about will be operated by Southwest starting next March.
Now these destinations arenāt new for Southwest as an airline, but the routes create more accessibility from different cities. These new routes include:
Baltimore/Washington - Belize
St. Louis - Los Cabos, Mexico
Austin - San Juan, Puerto Rico
We love Southwest for its famous Companion Pass perk and the ability to book cheap award flights just like this one š
And I have a feeling weāll also be finding some sweet award deals for these new flights next spring.
