Good morning my travel-hacking comrades, and welcome back to the newsletter that embodies the classic saying, "Give someone a plane ticket, and they'll fly for a day. Refer someone to Daily Drop, and they'll fly for a lifetime."
I may be slightly misremembering that quote…
Anyway, today is VERY exciting, so let’s dive into things:

🇳🇵 Everest Base Camp giveaway winner is revealed
The moment many of you have been waiting for has arrived at long last.
It’s time to announce the winner of what I think is one of the coolest giveaways I’ve ever seen… To recap, the following person has won a 15-day, all-expenses-paid trek to Everest Base Camp.
And the lucky winner is…
Cassie A. from the U.S.!! Congrats!!!!!!
By now, you will have already received an email from us informing you that you’ve won. Sorry to the rest of you Cassie A’s out there who got your hopes up (and your dreams crushed 😭).
Anyway, I can’t wait to hear about this trip of a lifetime for this lucky person.
But we've got you covered if you didn’t win this time (or aren’t super interested in trips that require you to exert yourself up mountains thousands of miles away).
Our next giveaway, which will be announced soon, is more of a relaxed warm and sunny vibe… it also happens to be a trip that’s been on my personal bucket list for a long, long time, so stay tuned for that. 😉
✈️ Introduction to JetBlue’s new TrueBlue program
Many of you are familiar with earning points and elite status with hotshot airlines like Delta, American, and United, and we often talk about their point programs in Daily Drop.
But one airline that has been off the radar for a while (in terms of loyalty programs) is JetBlue.
Well, that’s about to change because they’ve recently revamped their TrueBlue program in some major ways, and it’s pretty sweet.
Today, I’ll walk you through the basics of how this new program works. If you live near a JetBlue hub or find yourself flying with them, you might be surprised at how rewarding it is.
Keep in mind that all of these changes are in addition to the TrueBlue points you already earn from flying, which stays the same.
Let’s start by discussing Tiles - the durable, versatile, and aesthetically appealing fixture for any well-designed home.
They also happen to be the units of currency that unlock rewards with JetBlue.
You can earn JetBlue Tiles in two ways:
Earn 1 Tile for every $100 you spend on JetBlue flights, incidentals, and other travel like rental cars booked via JetBlue.
Earn 1 Tile for every $1,000 you spend on a JetBlue credit card.
Once you reach 10 Tiles, you can choose any of the following rewards. You’ll also get to choose another one of the rewards when you reach 20, 30, and 40 Tiles.
Once you reach 50 Tiles, you’ll be a Mosaic elite, unlock the remaining perks from the previous list, and get to choose ANOTHER perk from the following list:
$99 statement credit on JetBlue credit cards
20-Tile bonus
15,000 bonus TruBlue points
Mint Suite Priority (coming later in 2023)
Pet Fee Waiver
FoundersCard Blue membership
Obviously, some of those perks are more exciting than others. If you didn’t know, JetBlue’s Mint Suite might be the best domestic first-class product in the sky right now - so an upgrade certificate or priority access to these seats, for example, is extremely valuable.
You can check out the video these random strangers made if you want a more in-depth look at this sweet suite on JetBlue. 👇
As if all that wasn’t enough, you’ll also get the following benefits for hitting 50 Tiles:
Two checked bags free
Free beer, wine, and liquor drinks (wooh!)
Extra legroom seats
Same-day changes
Priority boarding
Priority security
More
But that’s just the lowest level of elite status…
You’ll also hit HIGHER levels of elite status with more exciting benefits when you hit 100, 150, and 250 Tiles.
I won’t go into all of the benefits of each tier, but you can find them on JetBlue’s website, and they include things like Mint upgrade certificates and… wait for it… free helicopter transfers to the airport… 😮
So here’s the bottom line:
JetBlue is now a major player in the loyalty game. In addition to revamping this program, they’re expanding to destinations like London, Paris, and Amsterdam, making them more and more appealing to fly.
So if you’re a JetBlue fan, you should be excited about this chance to earn amazing perks and rewards from what was previously an underdog in the airline space.
🌍 Where in the World Wednesday: Cusco, Peru
Hola, amigos! Today we’ve got a business class deal taking us to Cusco, Peru! 🇵🇪
Usually, I wouldn’t be excited about paying $1800 round-trip for a flight, but when it’s in business class… it hurts a little less.
PLUS when that business class seat was normally priced at $5,250… 😱 It hurts WAY less. In fact, it really doesn’t hurt much at all 👇
This deal is coming out of both Seattle and Baltimore, so no matter what coast you live closer to, you’ve got options with this one.
Seeing this deal also makes me smile because not only did Kara and Nate recently complete the (literally crazy) Monkey Run through Peru, but they also gifted us with a Daily Drop video this past Saturday about how they used some pretty popular credit card miles to book the Peru Rail Lake Titicaca Train FOR FREE.
What a timely FareDrop, eh? 🤗
You can catch this train straight from Cusco, but if you want to spend a little time actually enjoying this Peruvian city and nearby areas, here are some good ideas.
Cusco is often the home base for many travelers who venture to the nearby Ollantaytambo ruins, climb to the infamous SkyLodge (if you’re loco enough to attempt it), or explore Machu Picchu.
The surrounding Sacred Valley is also home to (the very important) Pisaq Archeological Park, which holds some of the most wondrous ancient structures of the Incan elites!
If you’re back in Cusco for the evening, I’d suggest visiting one of the popular Restobars (part restaurant, part hangout, part bar) in the San Blas neighborhood.
It overlooks the entire city, and the views will just leave you breathless… and also gasping for air because of the high altitude 😅
OR you can always pop in for an afternoon coffee and pastry at Catfetin—Cusco’s first and only cat cafe and adoption center ☺️
So are you ready to jet-set to Cusco?? I wonder where FareDrop will take us next…

That’s all, folks! I think today has to be the first time we’ve ever linked to TWO Kara & Nate videos in one newsletter… But I think we can all agree that it was appropriate.
